Bus Departure Times/Places
For day trips the bus departs at 7:00 a.m. from the southeast parking lot of Lougheed Town Centre Mall. To get to the parking lot turn off Lougheed Highway north onto Austin Road and proceed through the light at Gatineau which is the first entrance to the mall. There will be a turning lane for the second entrance to the mall on your left. Enter the mall parking lot and take the first right and travel a slight incline to the parking lot. If you have reached the undercover parking lot you have gone too far. See the slightly out of date map below which shows two buildings in this corner parking lot which have since been removed. Please park on the perimeter so the bus has room to turn around. Mall security will let us park here on trip days only but we do so at our own risk. The mall administration is not responsible for theft or damage. For eastbound day trips, the bus will also pick up at the 232nd Street exit (at the Chevron station). Please notify trip coordinator if you want the 232nd pickup or the Whatcom Road pickup.
The bus leaves the Lougheed Mall parking lot (see above) at 7:00 a.m. sharp. For eastbound day trips, the bus will also pick up at the 232nd Street exit (at the Chevron station) and the Whatcom Road exit at the gravel parking lot, opposite Tim Horton’s. Notify trip coordinator if you want either of the pickups. You should be at the intersection of 232nd Street and 72nd Avenue, on the south side of 72 Avenue by 7:30 a.m. to catch the bus and 7:45 a.m. for the Whatcom Road pickup.
Silver Star New Times!
The bus leaves the Lougheed Mall parking lot (see above) at 9:00 a.m. sharp. For eastbound day trips, the bus will also pick up at the 232nd Street exit (at the Chevron station) and the Whatcom Road exit at the gravel parking lot, opposite Tim Horton’s. Notify trip coordinator if you want either of the pickups. You should be at the intersection of 232nd Street and 72nd Avenue, on the south side of 72 Avenue by 9:30 a.m. to catch the bus and 9:45 a.m. for the Whatcom Road pickup.
Trip Cancellation/Change of Destination
Depending on road closures or lack of snow, your trip coordinator may have to change the trip destination. There will be no refunds and you may be asked to pay any additional costs. PLEASE check with your trip coordinator.
In exceptional circumstances, day trips may be cancelled with very short notice.
Payment, Refund policy – Day and Weekend Trips
Payment must be made in full at time of registration. Half price for children 12 and under. Cheques (payable to Nordic Wrecks) only, please. You may post-date your cheque to one week prior to the trip. If you cancel before the trip is declared a GO, we will tear up your cheque.
As a nonprofit club, we can’t cover cost shortfalls due to member cancellations or “no-shows”. The club can not issue “credits” to carry forward payments from one trip over to another.
If you are faced with a last minute cancellation, try to find a friend to take your place.
There will be no refund for member cancellations after a trip is declared a GO.
Weekend trips (where the club pays for both the bus and the room)
Bus costs: There will be no refund for member cancellations after a trip is declared a GO.
Room costs: Your trip coordinator will make every effort to recoup room deposits or restructure reservations to reduce your costs.
Bottom line: If you cancel after a GO, you may be required to pay for both the bus and the room costs.
